Turkish President Erdogan to visit Pakistan next month

Islamabad (Agencies): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Pakistan in the second week of next month to attend the Strategic Cooperation Council meeting.

During the visit, Erdogan will hold bilateral talks with President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the top military leadership.

According to sources, both sides will sign agreements on Strategic Economic Framework (SEF) and on bilateral cooperation in 71 sectors, including investment, defence production and banking and finance.

Last year, Erdogan’s visit to Pakistan scheduled for October 23 was postponed amid deteriorating ties between Ankara and the United States.

The US imposed sanctions on Ankara and major European nations condemned the Turkish move and banned the sale of weapons to the NATO member.
