Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz was sent to jail on 14-day judicial remand by an accountability court on Friday.
PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif along with Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz appeared before the accountability court in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case.
The court rejected the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) petition asking for Hamza’s physical remand and sent the PML-N leader to jail on 14-day judicial remand.
The court ordered the accountability watchdog to produce Hamza Shehbaz on July 20.
On April 9 this year, Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza were indicted in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case.
NAB had filed a reference against the father-son duo and alleged that former Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif misused his authority by using public funds for the construction of a bridge to facilitate the Ramzan mills.
